The Comb

In the last of our hair tool series we're bringing you the comb. Coming in a variety of widths and lengths the comb is a classic, not only is it crucial in the salon but can be a great tool for your pocket or bag, to whip out and fix that fly away hair.

Along with width and number of teeth combs are created with various material, some are metal and some are plastic. It's important to find the right comb fit for your hair type as well as insuring it's sturdiness.

A medium tooth comb is great for everyday use for hair that is not too thick. If you have super thick hair, try the wider tooth combs for every day use.

Top Tip: Never use a fine tooth comb to detangle dry hair, for detangling check out our post from earlier in the series here

Dressing Brush

This is great tool for everyone. If you love a bit of 'volume', 'jugge' and 'oomf' it's vital you grab yourself one of these. Not only does this dressing tool add lift from the root it, teases, separates and lifts hair without snarls.

Sofie @thepowerroom loves this brush
'it's great for up do's and special occasions; a tool in my collection that I take a recommend to most of my clients. This small brush can create such a variety of looks and you can manage just how much volume you want and even simply smooth down wisps of hair'

How to volumise using a dressing tool:
1. Take section of the hair (where you desire volume)
2. From the back of the section Back brush in fluid movements
3. Place the hair back and you should see it lifted from the root, smooth down any whispers with the brush and repeat on other sections.
