HAIR

Since when had my roots gotten that dark?! We hear you say......

When it comes to lightening one’s locks, what’s the difference between foil highlights and painting?
“Painting tends to be softer at the root and brighter at the ends, while a foil is uniform from root to end,”
Sophia in the colour team advises.. “If you want a strong, bold highlight, foil is your best option. If you want something soft, sun-kissed and not lifting too high, then opt for painting.
Painting has a softer grow-out and it’s lower maintenance.” But what about ladies who love a more signature look?

Like, ombre hair – are people still doing that? “Ombre definitely isn’t as popular as it used to be,” Sophia says. “The new trend is a return to a more classic highlight — having your roots actually done.”

Product of the Week- The Review

We set Harley the task of trying out our product of last week..we understand the difficulties of trying to find and good holding spray for your hair that is light yet durable but we think we may have found something!

Harley: Pli is a light and easy to use blow drying spray with a good hold told. It works perfectly holding the hair whilst not leaving it feeling sticky. It makes for the perfect product for setting and feels light weight. I love using it to finish off a sleek style.

Growing Pains

We found a great illustration for all those looking to grow their short sleek style into something a little longer.
If you are considering the long haul hair growth HQ recommends;
1. Regular Cuts- if your going to grow it then make sure your locks are lushous by having a trim every 6-8 weeks. Cutting it won't make it grow faster but it will keep dead and split ends at bay, thus making your hair look healthier and appear longer.

2. Protection Spray- When using heat products always use a good quality heat protection spray. We recommend 'Philip Kingsley's Defence Conditioning Spray.
(We also adore Moroccan Oil to give dry hair moisture and a delicious smell)

3. Be adventurous along the way - To avoid the lengthy process of hair growth use the chart above to try some new styles whilst your growing.

4. Pop into the salon every step of the way!

Product of the Week

With many clients finding it difficult to find something lightweight to style their hair with we thought we'd introduce you to Loreal's Metallic Gloss.

Metallic Gloss gives a light hold, its non stick, non- oily formula gives the hair texture and a supple definition whilst reflecting radiance with it's metallic shine.

How to use: Metallic Gloss is to be used as a finishing touch, by warming a small amount into your hands  you can either work through the hair with fingers section by section or straight through the hair for a more tousled look.

Pop into the salon to buy or  talk to a stylist about the product.

We've chosen L'Oreal Fix design as our Product of the Week. This extra strong spray leaves hair with a natural looking shine whilst protecting from the suns exposure. We're hoping the sun will be out this week and will keep you posted on how we found it.

Something for the weekend

Tecni-Art Gloss Control helps create a sleek, chic and groomed finish to any style with beautiful shine. It's really easy to use and can be spritz over dry hair and styled to create the finishing touch for an overall shine.

Great Tip!
For a smoothed style go over the hair with a paddle brush, watch the shine increase as the product is absorbed into the hair cuticle.

In the Press

Two of our salon products were features in columnist Abbey Clancy's 'Hair Heroes'.
We introduced Moroccan Oil into the salon due to popular demand. It seems to last our clients a lifetime, with it's great smell and hydrating elements this s one of our best sellers
We ran a feature on the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer as a Product of the Week and many of our clients agree its a 'Hair Hero'.

We also spied L'Oreal's Elnett in the corner of Abbey's article, being a must in the salon we're proud to see the longstanding product still in the press!

In the Press- It's no fairy tale

We were proud to see one of our favourite products Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo be awarded by SELF magazine as their Editor’s Pick for Best Hydrating Shampoo in their 2013 Healthy Beauty Awards.
The hydrating shampoo stood out amongst the hundreds of other contenders leaving hair clean, soft, supple and brilliantly shiny.

Find out why one SELF tester declared “The softness lasted for days, and my hair never got greasy.”

The award winning shampoo retails at £15.00 but why not pop in for a wash and blow dry by one of our stylists and see the results for yourself!
